Posted: Sep 6, 2026

We hope that you are settling into the new school year and your council is ready to hit the ground running!  While the year is just beginning, the 2027 IASC State Convention will be here before you know it.  This year our convention will be held April 1-3, 2027 at the Abraham Lincoln Springfield Doubletree in Springfield, IL.  We hope you will make plans to set sail with us as St. Joseph-Ogden High School takes us on a voyage to "Seas the Opportunity".

In preparation for the state convention, the IASC is accepting applications for Honor Delegates. The IASC Honor Delegate program provides students an opportunity to showcase and build upon their leadership skills by taking on specific responsibilities to ensure the success of the IASC State Convention.  These responsibilities vary by position, but could include providing goods or services to the convention, or even presenting and facilitating small group discussions.  Regardless of grade level or experience, there is an Honor Delegate role perfect for all students.  These roles include:

  • Roundtable Moderator

  • Member of the Constitution Committee
  • Member of the Credentials Committee

Whether your council members have an outgoing type-A personality, or are more quiet and reserved, there is a role perfect for everyone.  Please share this information with your students and encourage them to apply.
